Barbie Mania

Who could have ever thought about Barbie that it is just a mere toy ....

When I was young, a friend of mine has a dozen collection of Barbie dolls at her room. From different dress patterns and different hairstyles, no wonder why girls really fantazise themselves on simulating Barbie dolls as they mature. They dress her up like it was them dressing themselves, combing Barbie's hair like they are combing theirs, even talk to them as if Barbie was really a real lady. My Oh My! Girls were really boys' opposite when it comes to childhood happiness. Race cars, transformer robots, plastic guns .... boys are really boys and girls are really girls.

As I happen to look at our collection of CD's, I noticed 4 CD cases in which I myself could not resist the curiousity of opening and watching. I was wrong that my notion of Barbie was only limited to dolls. I really can't imagine that there are movies in which these "dolls" are the main characters. Without any hesitation, I plugged in the VCD player and began inserting the very first Barbie disk.

When I was still young I really like watching these kind of movies, Once upon a time .... blah blah blah .... and they lived happily every after. Before the movie would end, I would admit that I would end myself in tears. Shucks. I in tears? What does that mean? Geez. I'm such a sentimental person. It's not a manly thought, but hey! Even those who pretend to be manly still could not resist themselves when they are in tears.

After finishing the first of the Barbie movies, I was thinking that maybe since I still have time for relaxation, I should watch the other Barbie movies. Again without hesitation, I fixed myself some snack and watch the other three Barbie movies.

Shucks! Why does it always end up "and they lived happily ever after"? Geez. But anyways, What a relaxing moment to watch cartoons, to escape all the tiring school work and extra-curricular activities.

Watch them. It's really that entertaining. If you are that "tearsome" have some handkerchief with you! hehehe ....

I can't imagine myself! HAHAHAHA!!!!

Two Computer Science Studes Are Now International Action Stars

My biggest congratulations to Jan Stevens Ancajas and Jose Gavine Cueto IV, along with Dante Dinawanao as their adviser. Their challenge, dynamic DNS solution for a campus network was one of the Y2004 IBM Linux Scholars Challenge Winners, the very first Philippine entry that made it to the top 20.

2004 Challenge Results can be viewed here

Their project which was coined as dynDNSter - yet another dynamic DNS Solution can be viewed here

This isn't a worthless creation, for they aren't part of the worthless people. Better yet, this has been a milestone for the country that Computer Science study isn't a joke. It is so interesting to see that there are students who really strive hard for their course, not just for the sake of enrolling.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
